I will be talking about photography! In my class you will learn how to take a fancy flatlay photo of your makes – step by step!

I don’t want to spoil too much, but here are 3 main takeaways:

  • We have seen this photography style for years on socials, but do you actually know what makes or breaks it? With a quick introduction, I will give you a clear idea of what it takes to shoot a flatlay photo successfully.

  • I will show you my set-up and give you a simple list to find your magical space and build up your own mini studio. I know many people believe they need professional equipment and a lot of space. I will show you that none of it is necessary.

  • Last but not least, I will shoot photos and let you watch over my shoulder. You will be able to follow up my step-by-step plan with ease and enjoy your next shooting.

Why I chose this topic:

Of course, there are so many other things to learn, and you might have the feeling that flatlays are not as popular as they used to be (you are right!). You might also struggle with modelling your makes and taking photos of yourself (you are definitely not alone) and would rather have a class teaching you that (maybe another time…). Last but not least, there is this new kid on the socials that hits hard with an old song… do you remember this?…video killed the radio star!? So yes, short video is the new shit. Like it or not, it is what it is.

In my experience, most hobby makers are actually not educated in either photo- or videography and starting with an advanced topic feels off for a summit like this. You gotta start with the basics. A flatlay is great for that! It also eliminates a lot of hiccups, like these:

  • You can shoot at home; no need to go outside.

  • You don’t have to show your face, or anything else of you (although a hand in it is great!).

  • You don’t need fancy equipment or technical knowledge. Your smartphone is a natural at this!

On the other hand, you will be able to learn the most important things:

  • lighting

  • composition

  • styling

I can’t wait to see you in class!
